[Claimed by some to have been Crotia or Crosha, who was Charles Kennedy's widow, but recent research indicates that Crotia was much too young to have been mother of Kennedy's eldest children], b. c1709?, King William County; m. Charles Kennedy, c1731, Hanover County; d. Before 1758, Louisa or Hanover. [More research needed on this family. Charles Kennedy first appeared in Louisa County records associated with Richard Davenport and William Davenport in 1745. When Henry Gambill, Sr., married to Mary Davenport, moved to Culpeper County in 1752, he sold his Louisa County land, adjoining Martin Davenport's old plantation to Charles Kennedy, with William Davenport, David Davenport, and John Davenport witnessing the deed.] Children (Number, Order uncertain - some daughters possibly missing):

Text: "Lucy Davenport, an alleged daughter of Martin Davenport, Sr."
Lucy died before 20 Aug 1772, Spotsylvania County, when Joseph Venable, wife Sussie, sold out in Spotsylvania County. Wife Lucy had joined him in a 1763 deed of Spotsylvania land.
On 13 Feb 1744, Joseph Venable charged Richard Davenport, son of Martin, SR with trespass, assault and battery in Louisa Court. The dispute was settled out of Court. After selling out in Virginia, Venable went to South Carolina, allegedly served in the Revolution, moved to Warren County, KY, where he died. Issue unknown.
