Abott, Mary (b. 1 JAN 1786, d. 19 JUL 1846)

Note: James Abbot listed as Bondsman Court Record Clay Co KY

1810 Census Clay Co, Kentucky
James Abbet 1 0 0 1 0 - 2 0 0 1 0 - 0
Since Mary Abbot was born in 1786, and was 24 at the time, I suspect that although it is possible that she is a daughter, I think it is more likely that she is a sister of James.

When possible the information has been verified and notes added if corrections were necessary. His notebook included pages from the family Bible that had passed down to him, and correspondence between himself and various cousins, consequently a lot of
the information is first-hand. His hand-written notes were transcribed and compiled by John Clark Milton Bullock a great grandson of David White Bullock and son of Edmund Henry, and a copy made available to me by Russell Maas, a descendent.

Bullock, Elizabeth (b. 1816/1817, d. 3 MAY 1875)
Note: I have found no proof of this marriage, but I believe that Elizabeth is listed in 1850 residing with Patterson C. Bullock. She may have married after this time. There is a William Graves living next to David White Bullock in Clay Co in 1810 and in 1820 he is still in Clay Co. After that there are too many to be certain, and since I don't know the spouse's given name, I am not even sure this is the right family.

Bullock, Patterson C. (b. 2 JUL 1820, d. 24 NOV 1863)
Note: BIOGRAPHY: On 11 Aug 1845 in Mason County, Kentucky, Patterson C. Bullock married Katherine Raney b 19 Nov 1825 d. 6 Dec 1875
He was the 4th child & 2nd son of David W. & Mary Bullock. It appears from family legend that as a young man he went to Maysville or Dover, Ky. to visit friends or relatives, fell in love with the Ohio River, got a job working on one of the many river boats plying the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers at that time, and wound up owning and operating his own boat from Pittsburg to New Orleans. After his mother died his father David W., sold his property at Beattyville, Estill Co, KY and went to live with him at Dover where he is buried.

My father, Edmund H. Bullock, was well acquainted with his uncle Patterson C. Bullock & family. In his early ministry he belonged to the Maysville conference of the Methodist Church, where the annual conference was held; so during the Conference week he stayed with his uncle Patterson * family at near by Dover.
[Notes from John CLark Milton Bullock]
(From records of Edmund Henry Bullock)

Bowman, Thomas (b. 13 SEP 1782, d. 15 SEP 1869)
Note: BIRTH: Traditionally, I have always heard that Rev. Thomas Bowman was born in Virginia, however the 1950 Federal Census clearly states that his place of birth was Tennessee. At this time, I have no further documentation. From some other documentation, I suspect that this was that portion of Watauga Territory that was continuously in dispute whether it was VA, TN, or NC.

BIOGRAPHY: Thomas BOWMAN was a prominent Methodist minister and son of Cornelious and wife of Betsie or Susanna Bowman. He was probably married twice. Betsie (Elizabeth) and then Susanna. The family came to KY from VA in 1780's and settled in Madison Co. Some researchers show 16 Sep 1864 as date of death.

THOMAS BOWMAN was born 1782 in Watuga River, Tennessee, and died September 15, 1864 in Jackson County Kentucky. He married MARY POLLY MOORE November 04, 1801 in Richmond, Madison County Kentucky, daughter of JAMES MOORE and ELENDER HAMILTON. She was born 1783 in Virginia, and died September 15, 1872 in Owsley County Kentucky.
